THE SWAN THAT LOVED THE FROG'S SONG

In one of those northern countries of the planet. Far beyond the southern seas. Lived a Swan near the house of the Frog.

Everyday when the Frog woke up and started his deep song the Swan would stare in awe to his neighbor. The Frog always waved hello to his fellow and always got a wave back from the Swan with a shy smile.

One day the Frog had to leave the damp side of the lake where the Swan lived to start a new life.

-Why are you leaving Frog?- Swan asked.
-I have an adventurous spirit and I want to look out for new lakes or swamps to sing my song- the Frog replied.

-But aren't you happy in this lake?
-Dear Swan, I arrived here when I fell in love with the sweet smell of the orchids. But now the orchids have withered and it is time for me to look for a new home.
-But how will you know where to go now? We will miss you deeply since your deep voice always brings us peace and calm in this lake. I love the vibration of your sound making my feathers shiver from within.
-I'll miss you too dear Swan. You have made me warm company even more than the orchids whose scent died soon and now they are all asleep until next year. But I'll always remember you. I'll jump until I find a new place.

The Frog gave the Swan a small rock from his dampy home and it was immediatly kept under the Swan's feathers. The Frog recieved in return on of the swan's feathers and then jumped high away from the lake and in a couple of efforts he dissapeared form the Swan's view...

The lake owner. A human old man who also cultivated orchids, started to notice the lack of the Frog's song when days passed by...

"Oh, Finally that awful sound has gone, this lake has got its peace back" he thought out loud.

But the Swan kept the Frog's rock near his heart for he missed deeply the Frog's song and wished he could feel again through that small rock the vibration of the sound he remembered...

... One day the rock started to move...

The rock broke and inside of what seemed like a cluster of mud came out a little frog that for a few days looked more like a funny fish but he suddenly became the Swan's son... He lived forever on the lake and calmed the Swan's heart with his new song...

The old man had to take his hedache pills again...
